Kaiwaka

An aspirational yet achievable concept to draw the community and visitors to the river. The currently murky tidal creek uses riparian planting to contribute to making the water swimmable again. Using the water to bring people together, and connect with nature is the key idea. Aesthetically, the concept of weaving is used to ‘weave’ the land and water together. Lighting is introduced, with minimalist tree like forms designed for local fauna to land and in turn remind us who we share our spaces with.
